Mr Filbert’s was launched in July 2010 to a tremendous media fanfare. From this explosive start, this multi-award winning company has gone from to strength to strength. Since its launch, the brand has sold an amazing 500,000 bags of Mr Filbert’s scrumptious snacks, delicious drizzles and gourmet cooking oils, predominantly to the independent fine food sector. The attraction of the brand and the quality of its products have been recognised in a flurry of awards, including the Great Taste Awards, Taste of the West and the prestigious Innovation Challenge Award at the Lunch! trade show.
Established in 2010 the company and the Mr Filbert character was the brain child of Mark Taylor who, with his talented team, created one of the most interesting and fastest growing brands in the food sector today. “The team and I have spent much of our careers working in the food and fine food sector. In 2009 we realised that there was an opportunity to develop a range of premium snacks as an alternative to the burgeoning hand cooked crisps, so we set about devising something different, attractive and interesting”. Mark enthuses “Fusion of nuts, seeds and fruit with exotic flavours from chilli to lemongrass, mint to wild garlic was the way we decided to go. And to make our snacks truly original with lasting character we decided to develop a technique that would cook our recipes in a healthier way, preserving the flavour of the ingredients and reducing the fat content.”
Our technical director set about designing a novel machine to tumble roast their snack offering in a hot air environment. In May 2010, Mr Filbert’s took delivery of its first inventive hot air roasting tumbler machine and were soon in business concocting new inventive recipes that were truly original, a healthier option and above all delicious.
The Mr Filbert’s team do not rest on their laurels and are always looking into developing an array of new inventive snacks and treats – some of which are about to set the market alight with some quirky advertising and packaging.
