Thorpe Farm is home to our family, the Marsden’s, who have been farming in the Hope Valley for over 300 years. We started making ice cream 5 years ago using the milk from our 100-strong Friesian herd and we’ve never looked back!
Each batch of our delicious handmade dairy ice cream is made to a traditional recipe in our SALSA accredited kitchens on our farm, which is located just outside Hathersage. We use only the finest ingredients to make our ice cream: milk from our happy cows and free range eggs and cream from local farms. Every additional ingredient that we use is sourced from suppliers as locally as possible, like the freshly poached rhubarb picked straight from the farm kitchen garden!
We like to keep our flavours as fresh and exciting as possible so we are constantly experimenting with different flavour combinations, from the traditional, such as Rhubarb & Elderflower, to the more exotic, like Chocolate & Beetroot. Recently we have also started producing a range of refreshing sorbets, with flavours including Pineapple, Lemon, Raspberry and Melon.
Our ice cream is available to purchase at our on-site ice cream parlour, which overlooks the breathtaking Hope Valley, as well as local restaurants, deli’s and cafe’s throughout the Peak District. Just look out for our distinctive branded milk churns!
