Most of us eat meat but how many of us are fully aware of what goes into bringing our meat to the table? As the trend towards increasing centralisation and industrialisation of meat production, and particularly slaughter and butchery, continues, so the distance between consumer and food becomes ever greater.
Through our courses at Trealy Farm in Monmouthshire,
we aim to connect people with these realities in a supportive and open way, exploring the whole process of producing meat including farming practices, slaughter, butchery and cooking. We aim to help recover something largely lost today – proper understanding of and respect for how our food reaches our plates.
All our courses take place at Trealy Farm, our working 135 acre organic mixed hill farm looking out over the Trothy valley and towards the Black Mountains, a beautiful and inspiring environment in which to explore and experience first-hand just what goes into producing meat.
